After two decades inside the conventional system — Primary Care, then Senior Medical Director roles designing population health programs for over 100,000 patients across New York City — Dr. Bruce L. Feldman concluded that the model managed disease well but prevented it poorly. It worked at population averages, not individual biology. It acted downstream of the problems it was meant to solve.

In 2009, he stepped outside that system by design. He founded FeldMed as a direct-care practice with no insurance intermediaries and no waiting rooms — a structure built around physician time, not throughput. The practice is now dedicated exclusively to longevity and preventive medicine: the science of extending healthspan, not merely lifespan.

Dr. Feldman earned his MD from the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University and completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Maryland and Good Samaritan Hospital / Johns Hopkins University. He spent a decade in primary care while concurrently serving as a Regional Medical Director in the structuring of Partners Community Health Inc., the network-building arm of the Partners HealthCare system, before joining Beth Israel Medical Center in Manhattan as Assistant Chairman of Medicine. He subsequently held Senior Medical Director roles in managed care, where the population-health work that ultimately reshaped his clinical thinking took place.

Since founding FeldMed, longevity and preventive medicine have become his sole clinical focus, with continuous study of the emerging science underneath them. His work centers on the upstream drivers of aging and chronic disease: metabolic function, cardiovascular resilience, hormonal balance, inflammation, and the biological markers that shape the difference between aging and aging well.
